In this concentration, you will take weekly private instrumental lessons and participate in symphonic band or orchestra along with other instrumental ensembles. Coursework includes theory, musicianship, a survey of music history, introduction to music industry, instrumental conducting, and choral and instrumental arranging. A separate application and performance audition are required for admission to the concentration.
Our faculty members are highly experienced teachers and active performers with regional and national reputations. They perform in such prestigious ensembles as the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Opera, Annapolis Symphony, and the United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C.
